Erica Branch-Ridley

Erica Branch-Ridley is the Emmy Award-winning Assistant Vice President for Platform Innovations at Sesame Workshop. As part of the Workshop’s newly formed Content Innovation Lab, she focuses on the intersection of emerging technologies and educational impact to identify key platforms for delivery of Sesame Workshop’s content.
Previously, she was the Workshop’s Broadband Supervising Producer overseeing the creative direction, educational content development, and broadband video production of The Electric Company website, as well as all digital media aspects of the property. In 2010, Branch-Ridley won an Emmy Award for the site in the “New Approaches – Children’s Entertainment” category. In 2011, she partnered with the Executive Producer of the show to create the transmedia storytelling experience “The Adventures of The Electric Company on Prankster Planet” that more than tripled traffic to the website.

Before joining the Workshop, Branch-Ridley served as the Executive Producer and Senior Director of TV Land Digital where she oversaw the creative direction and production for both the TV Land and Nick at Nite websites. She won an Emmy Award for the 2005 TV Land Awards online application. She was also nominated for a Technology Emmy Award in 2004 and 2005.

Prior to her position with TV Land, Branch-Ridley was the Senior Producer for Nickelodeon Online. She oversaw the production for and was in charge of extending the Nick Jr. brand and franchises online. She was the lead producer of the first successful TV/web convergent effort for preschoolers with Dora the Explorer.
Branch-Ridley worked as the Education Content Producer for The AT&T Learning Network where she was responsible for providing online support and resources to teachers and communities.

Prior to her work in the digital media industry, Branch-Ridley spent almost 10 years in television. At Black Entertainment Television she created and produced the children’s television series StoryPorch. Branch-Ridley worked at CBS News on 48 Hours and at WNBC-TV on many local public affairs shows and network specials including the annual program Christmas in Rockefeller Center.

She was chosen by the National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Cable to participate in their prestigious Executive Leadership Development Program at the Anderson School of Management at UCLA. Branch-Ridley has completed graduate coursework at Seton Hall University in Elementary Education and Technology and holds a B.S. degree from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. She is a member of the newly formed Newhouse Alumni Professional Development Board.

Branch-Ridley resides in West Orange, New Jersey with her husband Jon and is proud mom of her focus group of three: daughter Nya and twins Olivia and Jonathan.
